It seems there’s still enough Canadians pondering a vote for Stephen Harper on May 2nd to give us another minority Conservative government. I do wonder where these folks have been over the last five years as Mr. Harper has steadily eroded our proud democratic traditions. Here’s George Stroumbolopoulos back in 2007 talking about Harper’s attitude towards the media, and the need for him to control them and their “pesky” questions:

Still not convinced Harper is unfit to govern (except perhaps in North Korea)? Check out this article about the “Harper Portrait Gallery” in the government lobby in the House of Commons:
“When you walk in the door, all you see are pictures of Stephen Harper…”
“I’d say between every window, in every available space of the wall, at eye level, every available space has a photo of Stephen Harper.”
“You’ve got photos of Stephen Harper, but not of previous prime ministers,” she added. “Photos of Stephen Harper in different costumes, in different settings, dressed as a fireman, in Hudson Bay looking for polar bears, meeting the Dalai Lama, even the portrait of the Queen had to have Stephen Harper, but in a candid, behind her.”

Conservative Spin On Killing the Climate Bill: A New Source of Renewable Energy?
Lovely photo of our Lord and Master there Christine. Just another example of his inflated ego at work.
Just had mail in this morning from Renewal Energy World.com, and one of the articles points to the fact that Alberta – where our Oh-So-beloved PM resides – is both oil and coal based. Harper won’t listen to any questions from the press if the question is in any way negative to his stand on this fossil fuel burning issue.
Once again, it goes back to his fanatical control of the media to keep anything positive from reaching the ears of the public, who as Steve-O keeps on telling us, simply don’t care.
I see, I have to wonder where he gets that stupid idea from. Just like we don’t care about his government being found in contempt of parliament. Apparently we don’t care about that either. Wrong again Steve-O.
This never ending, pro-fossil fuel attitude of his needs to be repaired, and quickly. His policies are causing immense difficulties not just for our atmosphere, but for all Canadians personally. And this applies not only to our personal health, but to the health of our pocketbooks as well.
I hope above all else that Canadians don’t care enough about the election, that they also won’t care to vote for him. It’s high time that this overbearing, arrogant, controlling fat bellied clown was given the boot.
Whatever reason you choose NOT to care for him, I hope that enough of us DO care to vote for someone else.
So I’m assuming you’re not voting Conservative, Keith? Just kidding – I’m very concerned about the May 2nd vote, it really seems to be unpredictable at this time. Depending how it goes, we might be staying in Europe (My daughter and I are flying there on May 2nd to meet up with my husband and other daughter – and I know, I will address the issue of carbon offsets on this blog ASAP!).
